Yeah, carbs make you fat but you NEED them to function as well. It’s one of the body’s energy sources. Yea, I was just about to say.. this pic is such an oversimplification. The key is balance. eating carbs (and other food) = energy and burning them regularly with exercise = more muscles = your body can burn more energy even when sedentary. it’s all kinda complicated… but I just remember that my nutrition professor said that carbs are pretty important and there’s a reason why the atkins diet does NOT work.
and carbs are kinda a big category. So are fats. eat carbs, but not empty carbs like table sugar… whole wheat bread is full of carbs and also vitamins and other good stuff. Eat fat but I wouldn’t recommend most beef… so full of saturated fats… but fish has a ton of good ol unsaturated fats and omega 3 or 6 oils or whatever.
